About the role
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for a day-shift contract at a Level 3 trauma-certified hospital in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Neuro cases are not performed in this IR department. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM on non-holidays. Rotating on-call coverage is required: call begins at 4:00 PM for 15 hours on weeknights, and 7:00 AM for 24 hours on weekends and holidays. The charting system is Epic. Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform vascular access including PICC lines, ports, and central venous lines
- Perform abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, and vascular IR procedures (e.g., angioplasty, embolization, endograft placement, IVC filter placement/removal, TIPS, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, nephrostomy, biliary drainage)
- Scrub and maintain sterile field, circulate, and perform equipment setup
- Set up and maintain IR equipment, manage inventory and supplies
- Adhere to sterile technique and infection control protocols
- Operate PACS and Epic EMR systems
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- ARRT (R) certification required; ACLS, ARRT (VI), and BLS certifications required (ACLS and ARRT VI preferred)
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy (Philips) and ultrasound equipment
- Experience with procedures including angioplasty, aortography, embolization, chemoembolization, endograft placement, IVC filter placement/removal, liver biopsy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, RFA of the liver, TIPS, dialysis graft interventions, gastrostomy tube placement, nephrostomy, internal/external biliary drainage, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years
- Valid state license or certification (PA Fingerprints required; results can take up to 2 weeks to process)
- Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance; maximum of 3 attempts to pass
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
