About the role
TNAA TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This full-time position involves 40 hours per week on an 8-hour day shift.
Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients while providing reassurance and support.
- Assist in scrubbing all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Monitor patients during all procedures.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques to ensure adequate safeguards for patient and operator exposure.
- Apply knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately interpret examination requests, including identifying physical abnormalities depicted by IR procedures.
- Operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
- Operate fluoroscopic equipment and assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
- Prepare and observe patients undergoing procedures, reporting any abnormal activity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) National Certification.
- State-specific licensing when required.
- Vascular Interventional (VI) certificate preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for long periods without difficulty.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
