About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time outpatient cardiology position. The ideal candidate will possess strong competencies in arrhythmia recognition and cardiology. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8s) — no nights, weekends, or on-call required.
Responsibilities
- Perform exercise tolerance tests (ETTs) and nuclear stress testing.
- Conduct initial patient interviews and make preliminary assessments of test data.
- Prepare studies for physician interpretation and ensure accurate and timely results.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, providing patient and family education.
- Assist with monitoring during special procedures, such as stress-echo studies and tilt table studies.
- Recognize emergency situations and respond according to policy/protocol.
- Identify and interpret arrhythmias; perform conscious sedation as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience with recent arrhythmia recognition and cardiology experience.
- Preferred experience in ICU or Cardiology nursing.
- Current NY RN License, BLS, and ACLS certifications (both through AHA or RQI).
- Moderate sedation competency and experience with Meditech are preferred.
