About the role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Intermediate Care position in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care in a unit serving medical-telemetry and medical step-down patients.
- Work on a 42-bed unit (21 medical beds, 21 intermediate care beds).
- Maintain patient ratios: intermediate care 1:3, medical 1:6.
- Manage common cases including pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, alcohol withdrawal, GI bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, UTI, and respiratory failure.
- Perform 12‑hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with required holiday coverage.
- Float to other units as needed, requiring experience on both medical‑telemetry and intermediate care.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, high‑flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry monitoring.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
- 13‑week assignment.
- 36 hours per week.
- 12‑hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Holiday coverage required.
