Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for intermediate care patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Maintain telemetry, perform detailed assessments, administer medications, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Manage patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, insulin drips, chest tubes, and other advanced therapies.
• Float to higher-acuity inpatient units within your scope of practice as needed.

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• ICU experience preferred
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Epic experience preferred

About the Unit

36-bed Intermediate Care Unit
Adult medical and surgical patient population
Common diagnoses include sepsis, trauma, GI bleed, stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, alcohol detox, orthopedic trauma, and stable ventilator/tracheostomy patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Assignment Highlights

• Every other weekend and holiday
• Any scrub color permitted
• Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census during the contract
