About the role
American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a fast-paced Level 2 trauma center setting in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting September 13, 2026, with 40 hours per week on a day shift schedule (8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday). Two openings are available.
You will work in an acute inpatient hospital setting within a Level 2 trauma center, treating patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions. The role involves working across all hospital units, primarily located in one tower, and requires a minimum of 2 weekend days per month, with additional weekend opportunities available. You will use Cerner EMR and be part of a large rehab team of approximately 45–50 associates, including PT, OT, and speech therapy staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide physical therapy interventions tailored to each patient's condition.
- Oversee physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel.
- Engage regularly with an interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide real-time documentation and point-of-service care.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required.
- PT license required if applicable.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking and decisive judgment.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Local candidates may be accepted at a reduced rate that varies by location.
