TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Madison, Wisconsin. Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit. Discipline: RN. Start date: November 9, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12‑hour day shifts. Employment type: Travel. Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Observe patients receiving complex medications, adjusting or titrating IV lines as needed.

Requirements

• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years referenced in requirements).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Skills

• Able to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 lb routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 lb.
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
