Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams specializing in brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular procedures, and epilepsy surgery. This unit features a mixed-acuity environment, including both floor-level care and an 8-bed high-acuity step-down unit designed for patients with complex needs requiring hemodynamic and neurological monitoring. Responsibilities Conduct thorough neuro assessments and perform Q1 neuro checks. Manage EVDs (External Ventricular Drains), lumbar drains, and subdural drains. Administer and monitor infusions of 3% NS and Cardene drips. Provide care related to arterial lines and perform duties associated with carotid endarterectomy. Support interventions such as aneurysm coiling/clipping, DBS insertion (Deep Brain Stimulator), and VP shunt management. Implement effective seizure management protocols. Qualifications MUST HAVE STEP-DOWN OR PCU EXPERIENCE. BLS certification is required. Experience in high acuity stroke and neurosurgery is essential. Telemetry experience is required. Current RN License in New York is mandatory. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required. ACLS certification is preferred. NIHSS certification is required. Schedule This position offers rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, totaling 36 or 48 hours per week, based on unit needs.Thrive Staffing Job ID #19330175.
