About the role
We are seeking a travel nurse RN for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Salem Hospital, a Level III Trauma Center in Salem, Massachusetts. This 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU cares for adult patients with diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day. Floating to Medical/Surgical units is required.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week (option for 48 hours)
- Every other weekend (EOW)
- Day rotators may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts as needed; night shift does not rotate
Responsibilities
- Provide care for ICU patients with high acuity, including those with complex medical/surgical conditions
- Read telemetry strips
- Float to Medical/Surgical units as required (up to 4 or 5 patients)
- Maintain competency in telemetry
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU
- 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location
- Ability to manage a 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratio in ICU and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg
