About the Role
Deliver critical care in a facility with a collaborative culture and advanced technology. You will assess and monitor critically ill patients, operate life-support equipment, and document care in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients in the ICU
- Operate life-support equipment
- Document care in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Epic
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Valid South Dakota RN license or Compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- 1.5 to 2 years of recent ICU experience
- Epic EMR proficiency
- SSN required
- DOB required
- 1 reference in the last 12 months
- Permanent address over 250 miles from Rapid City, SD
- EPIC skills checklist within 12 months
- Reference dated within 12 months for job worked within 5 years
- Experience with complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro, and trauma
- Experience with diagnoses including but not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma (heavy trauma population)
- Previous travel required
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac experience
- Familiarity with Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Experience with IV medications, ventilator management, telemetry, and strong critical thinking
- ICU unit strongly prefers 48-hour contracts
