Travel ICU RN - $1,857 per week

VyTalent Solutions is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a travel contract at a hospital in Chesapeake, Virginia.

About the Role

This travel nursing assignment supports critical care needs in a hospital setting. The role requires flexibility to float to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care for ICU patients, including ventilator management, IV drip titrations, and telemetry monitoring.
• Administer conscious sedation and recognize/manage dysrhythmias.
• Respond to emergencies and support critical care needs.
• Float to assigned units as necessary (Stepdown, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical).
• Work 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30), including every other weekend, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:2-3.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Complete accurate and prompt documentation.

Requirements

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license (in hand at time of submission; no exceptions).
• Strong neuro critical care experience.
• Proficiency in Epic (no exceptions).
• Three years of critical care experience preferred (strong candidates with less may be considered).
• Previous travel experience preferred.
• BLS (American Heart Association only).
• ACLS (American Heart Association only).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Pay

Pay range: $1,965.28 – $2,063.54 per week (based on 36 hours).

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30).
• 36 hours per week.
• 13-week contract (21 weeks total duration).
• Rotating shifts, every other weekend, holidays, and floating as required.
