About the role

This is a 13-week travel contract position for an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. The role involves providing high-quality patient care during the night shift, focusing on critically ill patients. The nurse must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of complex medical issues and be capable of intervening effectively in emergency situations.

Schedule

  • 12-hour Night shifts, varying from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Must be available to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and families
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Preferred certifications: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Experience with Cerner EMR in General Medical Surgical ICU settings is advantageous
