Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN travel assignment in Fargo, North Dakota. The healthcare provider is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week temporary assignment managing critically ill patients across trauma, neuro, cardiac, and surgical units with advanced critical care equipment and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage 1-3 critically ill patients, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and surgical cases
- Titrate vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, anti-arrhythmics, and other titratable drips
- Perform bedside procedures such as RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, line placement, and diagnostic tests
- Use equipment including EPIC Electronic Medical Record system, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets, IV pumps, IABP, EVD, and Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems
- Call in daily prior to shifts to confirm assignment location
- Float to other critical care units or medical-surgical units as needed, including Intermediate ICU and Broadway ICU in Fargo
- Adhere to facility badge-in/badge-out procedures and scrub color policy (navy blue)
Requirements
- ACLS (American Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) via AHA
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- ND (North Dakota) or compact state RN license
- At least 2 years of ICU experience in a large hospital (over 250 beds)
- Level 1 trauma experience
- Ability to care for critically ill patients independently
- Experience titrating vasopressor drips (per skills checklist or resume)
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Orientation: 32 hours covering hospital and unit-specific training during the first week
