About the Role

Travel nursing position for an ICU - Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Albany, New York. This assignment is for 13 weeks with a schedule of 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.

Hospital Specifics

Albany Medical Center Hospital is a Level 1 adult trauma center and Children’s Hospital serving upstate New York and parts of Vermont. The ICU unit has 18 licensed critical care beds, all private rooms, with an adult patient population.

The healthcare team includes RNs, PCAs (patient care associates), HUCs (unit coordinators), Nurse Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Pulmonary Critical Care Attendings, Fellows, Interns, Residents, and students (medical, nursing, respiratory, CRNA).

Necessary equipment for continuous close care includes bedside monitors with remote viewing capability, mechanical ventilators, computers in all patient rooms, ceiling lifts, supply carts, and other tools to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The hospital uses EPIC Clinicals Electronic Health Record for charting and data organization.

ICU RNs may float to other critical care units and step-down ICUs within the hospital as needed. A Critical Care Float Pool is available for emergent staffing needs.
