Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $2,150 per week

The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU focused on stroke care, neuro monitoring, and trauma. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care in a Level 2 trauma setting, with a focus on neuro and critical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity patient care in a 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU
• Focus on stroke management, cerebral monitoring and drains, vents, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and CRRT patients
• Work in a Level 2 trauma setting with neuro and critical care focus
• Float rotation may include Medical-Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, and other inpatient units as needed
• Weekend and holiday rotation: every other weekend and holiday
• On-call/call back: picking up call is permitted but not required; response time is within 1 hour

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg and ICU experience with strong neuro expertise
• Associate degree or certificate (bachelor's degree preferred)
• Flu and COVID vaccinations are mandatory during flu season, with masks required if declined
• Any color scrub is acceptable
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, capable of managing change, and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• CCRN certification

Schedule

• Contract length: 9 weeks
• Start date: 08/31/2026
• 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1930
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
