The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a healthcare facility in Carlsbad, New Mexico, offering specialized critical care. This position requires the ability to float to both Emergency Room (ER) and Medical Surgical (Med Surg) departments as needed, supporting diverse critical and acute patient needs. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care for ICU patients
- Manage ventilators and titratable drips
- Prepare and administer medications, including medication mixing
- Assist with patient hygiene
- Float to ER and Med Surg departments as needed
- Respond to call lights
- Pass medications
- Transport patients
- Start IVs
- Perform blood draws
- Work in a 12‑bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2‑3
- Use MedHost Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Scrub colors may be any
- No call required
Requirements
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
- ER and Med Surg experience required
- Must be registered with the state of New Mexico for fingerprinting
Qualifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred
- Experience with vents, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene preferred
- Flexibility to float to ER and Med Surg departments
- Ability to work with ventilators and titratable drips

Pay
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
