Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $1,977 per week
About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while upholding patient safety and staff welfare as top priorities.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals based on patient diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide patient information and status updates for team conferences on a weekly basis.
- Accurately and timely document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
- Engage in the patient rehabilitation program by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, with a focus on education for patients and families.
- Initiate discharge planning on admission and commence patient education timely in anticipation of discharge.
- Facilitate communication of significant patient status changes across care providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a safe working and care environment, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in team-building activities to promote a positive work atmosphere.
- Assume charge responsibilities when required, ensuring effective unit management and patient care continuity.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain a high standard in clinical practice.
Requirements
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to the first shift (specific to certain locations).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position is scheduled for night shifts in a 3x12.0 format.
