Travel First Assist Technician - $2,520 per week

About the role

Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel First Assist Technician for a 12-week assignment starting August 17, 2026, at a large 938-bed hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position offers a weekly gross pay of $2520 with a $500 contract completion bonus.

Responsibilities

• Function as Surgical First or Second Assistant to the surgeon for complex and basic operative or invasive procedures
• Must have a strong background in various surgical specialties including Neuro, General, Ortho, ENT, and Vascular
• Perform a variety of procedures across surgical specialties including Neuro/ENT, Orthopedic, General (Breasts/Plastics), Vascular, Laparoscopic, General Oncology, Genitourinary (GU), Gynecology (GYN), and Robotic procedures
• May perform responsibilities of a Surgical Technologist if required, preferably not simultaneously while functioning as first assist
• Variable day shift start times between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Cross-trained to all Main OR specialties and Urology center
• On-call requirements include 30-minute response time; General/Neuro AM call slots Monday through Friday with weekend call; Orthopedic Surgical Assistants have 1 call day per week Monday through Thursday and 1 call weekend every 5 weeks
• Charting system: EPIC
• Equipment used: Alaris, Pyxis
• Hospital-provided surgical scrubs; scrub caps must be covered by a surgical bouffant
• Required certifications: BLS (first assist must have first assist skills checklist, not general ORT skills checklist)
• 2 weeks of orientation: includes education/paperwork, General, Ortho, Neuro, and Urology rotations

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Strong background in various surgical specialties including Neuro, General, Ortho, ENT, and Vascular
• Must have a strong background in Robots (Xi), Neuro, General, Ortho, ENT, and Vascular
• Must have a strong background in performing a variety of procedures across surgical specialties including Neuro/ENT, Orthopedic, General (Breasts/Plastics), Vascular, Laparoscopic, General Oncology, Genitourinary (GU), Gynecology (GYN), and Robotic procedures
• Must have a strong background in being able to function as a Surgical First or Second Assistant to the surgeon for complex and basic operative or invasive procedures
