About the role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.
Schedule
- Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
- Contract length: 15 weeks
- Every other weekend and holiday availability required
- Time off and block scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
- Client reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the contract period without charges for canceled hours
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Active New York Single State RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Required Clinical Skills
- IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Administration of IV vasopressors
- CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
- Managing CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
- Cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Emergency care experience, including adult and pediatric emergency cases, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma
- Isolation precautions and triage, particularly in the context of pediatric spinal cord injuries
Unit Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 for adults and geriatrics with various emergency diagnoses
- Special Equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
- Floating may be required within the skillset
- Scrub Color: Combinations of navy blue and white are acceptable
