About the role
Travel ER RN – Charge position in an 18-bed Emergency Department with 4 trauma bays, averaging ~67 patients per day. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1–5:1. This is a Charge RN role, and charge shifts are required.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients
- Manage cardiac drips
- Interpret telemetry
- Perform IVs and blood draws
- Oversee charge duties
Requirements
- 2+ years of ER experience with triage and charge experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- Wear navy or royal blue scrubs
Patient Mix & Environment
- Common conditions: chest pain, abdominal/pelvic pain, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, minor injuries
- Non-trauma designated facility
- No floating except to ER overflow
- Orientation: One 12-hour shift
- Shifts: Primarily 7A–7P or 7P–7A; 11A–11P and 3P–3A also available
- Weekends: Every 3rd weekend
- No call required
