About the role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Vermont. The ER is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing critical care and treatment to approximately 14,000 patients annually. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excel in high-pressure situations, delivering compassionate and effective emergency nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage to prioritize care based on severity of condition.
- Collaborate with medical staff to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Administer medications, perform high-quality clinical procedures, and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care processes and treatment options.
- Document all nursing activities accurately in the patient's medical record.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current in emergency nursing practices.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Weekend and holiday shifts required every other weekend, including major holidays as needed.
- Specific requests for time off must be provided at the time of application and should not exceed five days.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Preferred: 3 months minimum travel nursing experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Valid and current certifications: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), BLS (Basic Life Support, American Heart Association), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Heart Association), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, American Heart Association).
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact license required.
- A supervisory signed reference from the past two years of employment is required.
- Travelers must possess their own vehicle.

- Two blocks of schedule availability during major holidays are essential.
