Travel ER RN - $2,438 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Yakima, Washington. The position is a 13‑week travel assignment starting 11/16/2026, requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour evening shifts. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Provide experience and skill caring for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent and emergency environment.
• Perform minor medical operations, advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries, and plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for allergies, obtain patient vital signs, and monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• ENPC certification
• TNCC certification
• PALS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Schedule

• Shift: 12 hours, evenings
• 36 hours per week
