About the Role

AMN Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Grand Marais, Minnesota. This position places you in a 16-bed critical access hospital on the scenic north shore of Lake Superior, offering emergency services and serving a diverse patient population, including residents and visitors to the area. Grand Marais is a charming lakeside town surrounded by the Superior National Forest; Duluth, the closest major city, is about 110 miles south, roughly a two-hour drive for urban amenities and travel connections.

Responsibilities

Work in both the Emergency Department and Med/Surg units (floating is required; ED nurses tend to cross train quickly to Med/Surg at this facility)
Provide emergency nursing care in a critical access hospital setting
Available shifts: 12 hours, nights
Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse license in Minnesota or a compact state (or copy of application for temporary MN Nursing license required with submission; temporary licenses tend to be quick to obtain, averaging between 3–5 days)
At least one year of recent emergency room experience (2 years preferred)
BLS certification (copy needed)
ACLS certification (copy needed)
PALS certification (copy needed)
Work history should not have more than 30 days of gap in entire work history
1 reference in the last 12 months
ER SCL and reference within a year
RTO Upon Submission

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) systems
