Travel ER RN - $2,158 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Long Beach, California. This is a 13‑week travel assignment requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour evening shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will work with a diverse team of caregivers to evaluate, triage, and implement care according to physician instructions in a fast‑paced ER environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for patient allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Possess good stress‑coping skills and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• 3 years of experience (as indicated in the posting).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
