Responsibilities
Emergency Room registered nurses (RN) provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life‑threatening conditions. They assess, intervene and stabilize a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action, prioritize injuries based on medical need through proper triage, and make quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients’ physical and mental health status.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Degree from an accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, PALS & TNCC may be required in some positions
- Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Emergency Room setting
- Additional requirements as determined by the client facility

- Triage and prioritization of patient care
- Rapid assessment and stabilization of trauma and medical emergencies
- Knowledge of general and specific health issues
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
