About the role
TotalMed is seeking an Emergency Room RN for an immediate travel nurse opening in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions
- Perform minor medical operations
- Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries
- Plan long-term care needs
- Document medical history
- Check for any allergies patients might have
- Obtain patient vital signs
- Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being
- Provide basic bedside care
- Clean and bandage wounds
- Provide IV therapy
- Maintain supplies and medical equipment
- Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies
Requirements
- 1–2 years recent acute care experience
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certification
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Able to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
- Good skills for coping with stress
- Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
