Travel ER RN - $1,943 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department (ED) in Sweetwater, Texas. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, travel employment type.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations, advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries, and plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for allergies, obtain vital signs, and monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care, clean and bandage wounds, administer IV therapy, maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (minimum 1 year validity).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
