Travel ER RN - $1,654 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Durham, North Carolina. The position begins on 11/16/2026 and is a 13‑week travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries and plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for allergies, obtain vital signs, and monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• PALS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment start

Qualifications

1‑2 years of recent acute care experience in an emergency department setting.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; patient lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Good stress‑coping skills.
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
