• Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
• Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab. Department Specific Job Functions:
• Prepares patient for procedure.
• Completes assessment, reviews health history, starts IV and provides education to patient.
• Makes sure patients are sedated during their procedure.
• Carefully monitors and cares for patients in both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.
• Aids the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) during cases requiring anesthesia involvement.
• The overall role of the professional RN in Digestive Health is to define, direct, supervise and evaluate patient care directly and via delegation to others by using the nursing process.

Skills

• Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
• Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A

Education

• Required Education: ASN
• PREFERRED Education: BSN

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
• ACLS (American Heart Assoc.)
