This position involves providing compassionate and efficient emergency care in a busy, small emergency department. The role requires managing a diverse patient population with typical Midwest complaints, collaborating with physicians and mid-level providers, and contributing to a team focused on delivering high-quality trauma and medical care during night shifts. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications; previous emergency department experience; proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system; Nebraska licensure or ability to obtain license; minimum of 0 years experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner EMR system; additional certifications such as ENPC may be required by the end of 2022 Patient Ratios: Most of the time, no more than 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; nurse staffing includes a CNA every shift, with flexibility for coverage from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Patient Volume: Averaging around 50 patients daily, approximately 1,500 per month Clinical Responsibilities: Administering common critical care drips, managing respiratory treatments with RT support, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab draws; responding to emergency cases such as neuro, GI bleed, and trauma transfers to specialized facilities Staffing: One ED physician 24/7, one mid-level provider 11:00 AM 11:00 PM, and charge nurses assigned each shift; support staff includes nurse aides and potentially paramedics in the future Additional Information: Team-based approach for monitoring and managing patients; collaboration with radiology for transport and imaging procedures; central telemetry monitoring station; quick response team for respiratory needs; in-house security available as needed; minimal mental health patients, primarily trauma, neuro, and other medical emergencies Benefits The benefits of taking a travel assignment with Cross Country include: Private housing or generous housing allowance Comprehensive health insurance with prescription coverage Dependent health insurance with prescription coverage Competitive salaries Referral bonuses Travel reimbursement 401(k) retirement plan Direct deposit/free checking Unlimited free CE credits Cross Country Job ID #1297315.
