Job Summary
The Emergency Room Nurse in Peoria, Illinois will provide acute care in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department with a busy patient volume ranging from newborns to elderly patients. The role requires proficiency in managing critically ill patients, utilizing advanced skills in trauma care, and titrating various drips, including vasopressors and cardiac medications.
Job Details
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with shifts starting at 7p, 8p, or 9p depending on the schedule.
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois nursing license
BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC or TNS certifications
At least 2 years of emergency nursing experience
Completed or initiated the application process for their Illinois license
Understood OSF's Drug-Free Campus policy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a teaching hospital setting
Prior travel assignments
SANE RN experience
Responsibilities
Care for a wide variety of patients with diverse conditions including trauma, strokes, heart attacks, and critically ill patients.
Manage titration of multiple critical drips and interpret rhythm strips.
Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, and supporting staff including techs, RTs, and radiology.
Additional Information
The department maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5, with resources available for respiratory support and telemetry monitoring.
Float to other units is infrequent and typically as a help-all.
No specific scrubs color required.
The department operates EPIC charting system.

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
