About the role

Emergency Room Nurse located at a Level IV Maternal Designation facility, responsible for delivering high-quality emergency care within a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The role involves managing complex patient cases in a tertiary care setting, with a focus on obstetric and neonatal emergencies, as well as general emergency procedures.

The unit is a Level IV Maternal Designation facility with 26 LDR suites, 6 C-section suites, 60 Mother-Baby Couplet rooms, and 15 monitored ante-partum beds. The department offers high-risk obstetric, emergency, and gynecological care, with 24-hour in-house OB coverage, anesthesia, and NICU support. It features a Perinatal Transport Program and handles over 500 deliveries per month in a busy, academic and private practice setting. The Women's Emergency Department manages a broad patient population including postpartum patients from 16 weeks to 6 weeks postpartum.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Registered Nurse Texas license
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics
• Advanced Life Support certification
• Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school or college of nursing
• 0 years minimum of labor and delivery/perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of perinatal clinical experience in high-volume delivery service
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification

Schedule

• Nights shift
• 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
