Travel Emergency Dept RN - $1,969 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Somerset, Kentucky. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour evening shifts, employment type travel.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage and implement care per physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history and check for allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Administer IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Skills

• Ability to cope with stress in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
• Skill relating to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds for patient moves.
