Key Responsibilities
- Triage and Patient Assessment: Perform initial assessments, triage based on condition severity, evaluate patient history, conduct physical assessments, identify urgent health issues.
- Emergency Care and Treatment: Administer medications, fluids, and treatments, perform wound care, splinting, suturing, manage ventilators, intubation, defibrillation.
- Collaboration with Medical Team: Assist with diagnostic testing, communicate with healthcare team, update team on patient status, discuss care options.
- Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor patients, document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in EHR, ensure compliance with standards.
- Patient and Family Communication: Provide explanations, offer emotional support, advocate for patients, coordinate care with other departments.
- Infection Control and Safety: Follow infection control protocols, ensure ER safety, respond to biohazardous situations.
- Crisis Management: Handle emergencies, manage high-stress situations, prioritize care based on acuity and resources.
- Patient Discharge and Follow-Up: Provide discharge instructions, educate on preventive measures, explain follow-up appointments, referrals.
- Teamwork and Mentorship: Collaborate with staff, act as mentor/preceptor for new nurses, students, and less experienced staff.
Qualifications
Required: Current RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, experience in emergency department preferred.
Skills

Pay package based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
