Core Responsibilities
- Emergency Assessment & Triage: ~10–12 hrs/week
- Rapid assessment, prioritization, and stabilization of emergency patients.
- Direct Emergency Care: ~14–16 hrs/week
- Managing patients with chest pain, CHF, COPD, psychiatric emergencies, trauma, and other acute conditions.
- Critical Care & Emergency Interventions: ~4–5 hrs/week
- ACLS protocols, airway management, IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency response.
- Documentation & Care Coordination: ~3–4 hrs/week
- Medhost charting, interdisciplinary communication, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
- Patient Monitoring & Reassessment: ~3–4 hrs/week
- Continuous monitoring and evaluation of patient response to treatment.
Key Requirements
- 1–2 years Emergency Room experience
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- NIC required
- PALS or ENPC required
- CPI/Handle With Care required
- Active Virginia RN License (or eligibility to practice in Virginia)

Unit Highlights:
- 34-bed Emergency Department
- 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Serves pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Common diagnoses include Chest Pain, CHF, COPD, and Behavioral Health/Psych patients
- Floating and call may be required as needed
- Every other weekend coverage as needed
- Flexible scrub colors
- Community acute-care hospital with strong cardiac and stroke affiliations
⭐ Ideal Candidate:
- ER RN with at least 1–2 years of emergency nursing experience
- Strong triage and critical-thinking skills
- The ability to confidently care for patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency department
