Travel Emergency Department RN - $2,088 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Asheville, NC. This 13-week assignment requires night shifts, 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions
• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long-term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for any allergies patients might have
• Obtain patient vital signs
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well-being
• Provide basic bedside care
• Clean and bandage wounds
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, ENPC, CPI, TNCC certification
• 2 years of experience (minimum)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Good skills for coping with stress
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
