Travel Emergency Department RN - $1,851 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in the Emergency Department for a 13‑week assignment in Fishersville, Virginia. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. As an ER Travel Nurse, you will work with a diverse team of caregivers to evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Provide care for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent and emergency environment.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for patient allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• NIH certification.
• CPI certification.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
