This is a night shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
About the role
The Emergency Department (ED) Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating expertise in patient assessment, rapid intervention, and critical thinking. The role requires an in-depth understanding of emergency care protocols, including triage, treatment, and stabilization of patients in various states of distress.
Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze patient conditions through vital signs and history taking.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform EKGs and interpret data accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
- Monitor and document patient progress in electronic health records.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health issues and treatment plans.
- Participate in departmental training and orientation activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of current ED experience preferred.
- Current NY State Nursing License in hand.
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting and Omnicell medication management systems.
- Experience in telemetry and rhythm identification; must pass EKG examination.
