Position Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced, 29-bed Emergency Department. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for individuals presenting with a wide range of emergent and non-emergent medical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage according to department protocols.
  • Initiate and manage emergency nursing interventions for critically ill and injured patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, EMS personnel, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and ancillary staff.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Certified Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • BLS – Basic Life Support.
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years emergency nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.
