Job Details

Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department (ED) at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, part of Trinity Health system in Des Moines, Iowa.

The role is a 6 month Long Term Assignment (LTA) to help cover the holiday period.

Shift Information

  • Shift hours: 06:30 to 19:00
  • Schedule: Every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)

Job Requirements

  • Valid nursing license with verification dated within 30 days of start
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required for all direct patient care personnel
  • PALS certification required for RNs in the Emergency Department; Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificate is also acceptable
  • ACLS certification required for RNs in the ED
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Must complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing within the past year
  • Must have completed Trinity Skills Checklist for clinical contractors
  • Must comply with Trinity Health Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Integrity and Audit Services Form, Non Employee Upload Form, Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, Criminal Background Check, Education Verification, EPLS, GSA/OIG, Joint Commission Testing, NSO, System Access Form, Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only), IA Sing Report, and OFAC screening as part of onboarding

Additional Details

  • 6 month Long Term Assignment (LTA) to cover holiday period
  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved declination/exemption
  • Must provide proof of MMR vaccination or immunity
  • Must provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccination series initiation prior to start
  • Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended
  • Must provide proof of 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing for TB screening
  • Must provide proof of Varicella vaccination or immunity
  • Must provide a physical/health statement within the last year indicating fitness to work
  • Must provide current, non-expired Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction
