Travel ED Observation Telemetry RN - $2,170 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Observation unit in Tacoma, Washington. This is a 13‑week travel assignment with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts. The position requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Room setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions
• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long‑term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for patient allergies
• Obtain patient vital signs
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being
• Provide basic bedside care
• Clean and bandage wounds
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• TNCC certification
• 2 years of recent acute care / Emergency Room experience
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment start

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift or move patients up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Strong stress‑coping skills for a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
