American Traveler is hiring an Echocardiographer with 3+ years of experience and RDCS or RCS certification for a 13-week assignment at a critical-access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The position is set in a critical-access acute care hospital within the Diagnostic Imaging department, performing echocardiography studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients. The schedule is Monday through Friday with four 8‑hour day shifts per week; travelers begin on a Wednesday, with an orientation week guaranteeing 36 hours on a 48‑hour contract due to the midweek start. Shift: Days, 5x8hrs; Hours: 40 hrs/wk; Start Date: Sep 28, 2026; Length: 13 weeks; Openings: 1.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies per departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for cardiologist interpretation.
• Evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of echocardiography experience.
• RDCS certification through ARDMS or RCS certification through CCI.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
