About the role
The Director of Nursing position is a full-time role with 75% travel. The successful candidate will be part of the Centurion Eagles Travel Team, working between various Department of Corrections facilities.
Responsibilities
- Directs the full nursing team and provides clinical, educational, and professional supervision for nursing and support staff in the correctional environment.
- Works under the direction of the contract manager and collaborates with mental health/medical leadership and other members of the multidisciplinary team to improve the health care of incarcerated patients.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Compact (multi-state) Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States; BSN preferred but not required.
- Progressive experience in nursing care with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in examining operations, formulating, developing, and implementing new strategies and procedures preferred.
- Corrections, forensics, or criminal justice experience preferred.
- Previous travel experience preferred.
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/BLS.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.
