Travel Cytotechnologist Job
Overview
Cytotechnologist—Cytotechnologist in Glens Falls, NY. Start date 08/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,350–$2,527. Guaranteed hours 0.0. Shift 5x8 days. Travel assignment in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens to detect cancer or other pathological conditions; mark abnormalities; render diagnoses; determine cases for quality control or review with a pathologist
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols
- Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using tele-pathology for the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations
- Prepare slides, document results in the laboratory information system, and maintain accurate case records
- Collaborate with the cytology and pathology team to ensure accuracy, turnaround times, and appropriate case prioritization
- Maintain equipment and adhere to safety, infection control, and workflow standards
Requirements
- Active New York State license to practice Cytotechnologist
- ASCP certification required
- Minimum 5 years Cytotechnologist experience
- Experience with EBUS, EUS, and thyroid FNA procedures
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
- Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment environment
