Travel Cytologist - $3,230 per week

About the role

A Cytologist position is available in the CYTO specialty within an acute care setting. This role involves screening gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, as well as fine needle aspirations, with a focus on immediate assessment for adequacy. The position offers a Monday through Friday daytime schedule with 8-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Screening GYN and non-GYN specimens
• Processing fine needle aspirations
• Performing cytology preparation work

The role requires familiarity with the Bethesda system for Cytology reporting.

Requirements

• NYS License
• Bachelor of Science degree with ASCP Registry and/or Certified Cytology School degree
• Minimum of 3 years of experience screening gynecological and non-gynecological specimens and fine needle aspirations
• Familiarity with Bethesda system reporting
• Certifications: ASCP and BLS (AHA)

Skills

Familiarity with cytology prep work, FNA processing, and immediate adequacy assessment are essential. Electronic charting is performed via EPIC. The candidate must hold a NYS license and be able to submit licensing documentation.
