Job Description & Requirements

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled CVOR Surgical Technologist for a 15-week travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. The position will start on August 10, 2026, and will be 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift.

  • One year of recent experience as a CVOR surgical tech
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • CST or nationally recognized equivalent certification (preferred)

Essential Work Functions

As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, you will facilitate the safe and effective execution of cardiovascular surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the operating room prior to surgical procedures
  • Stocking surgical supplies and inspecting surgical machines and equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Aiding in transporting patients to and from surgery as required
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care
  • Anticipating the surgeon’s needs, efficiently passing instruments to maintain procedural flow
  • Handling specimens with precision and care to maintain diagnostic integrity and follow institutional protocols
  • Collaborating with other health team members to ensure seamless surgical workflow
  • Maintaining sterility by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
  • Maintaining proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries
  • Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhering to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

  • Interpersonal skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
