Job Description & Requirements

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled CVOR Surgical Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. The position offers 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, and a 13-week duration starting on August 3, 2026.

  • One year of recent experience as a CVOR surgical tech
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • CST or nationally recognized equivalent certification (preferred)

Essential Work Functions

As a CVOR surgical technologist, you will facilitate the safe and effective execution of cardiovascular surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the operating room prior to surgical procedures
  • Stocking surgical supplies and inspecting surgical machines and equipment
  • Aiding in transporting patients to and from surgery
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team
  • Anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing instruments to maintain procedural flow
  • Handling specimens with precision and care
  • Maintaining sterility by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Maintaining proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Adhering to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • The ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiently use a computer
  • The ability to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • The ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
  • The ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • The ability to work under close supervision occasionally and work without assistance from other personnel
  • The ability to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail
  • The ability to possess visual acuity and effectively communicate
