About the role

The operating room specialty, focusing on open heart procedures, is located in a healthcare facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position involves coverage of a variety of cardiac and surgical cases, with rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights. The role requires adapting to a dynamic surgical environment, providing expert care during high-acuity procedures, and responding to call responsibilities as scheduled.

Schedule

• Evenings shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• All shifts rotate (days, evenings, nights)
• Call response time within 30 minutes; in-house call rooms available
• No float rotation required

Requirements

• Certification from NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) or NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience within the last 3 years
• At least 1 year of Level 1 Trauma experience within the last 3 years
• Recent travel experience of at least 1 year
• Candidates should not need to scrub during procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cardiac Robotics, Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation, and Heart Transplant procedures
• Strong coverage of general, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, trauma, robotics, and transplant cases, including heart transplants

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
