The facility is a teaching hospital with a commitment to pursuing Magnet Status Designation, ensuring a high standard of patient care and professional development for staff. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, thoracic cases, and vascular procedures. Function independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong clinical skills in case management. Collaborate with the surgical team, including scrubbing in and circulating in the operating room. Utilize the hospital's EMR system (EPIC) for accurate patient documentation. Required Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years CVOR experience, ideally in a Level I or II trauma setting. Current certifications in BLS and ACLS. Strong background in all relevant surgical specialties with an ability to work independently. Completion of a nursing education program approved by the board of nursing in the state of practice. Patient Care Environment Two operating rooms with a patient ratio of 1:1 in the OR. Commitment to quality with a model involving two surgical techs per case to ensure comprehensive support and assistance. Opportunity to float to the main operating room as needed. Orientation and Scheduling New hires will undergo a five-day orientation, consisting of eight-hour shifts. Scheduling will include either 8 or 10-hour shifts based on departmental needs. On-Call Requirements The role includes on-call responsibilities, with one overnight shift each week and a rotation where staff is needed every third weekend. Sleep accommodations are available on-site to ensure rest during overnight calls.
