Travel CVOR RN - $2,848 per week

About the role

This position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the cardiovascular operating room. The RN conducts thorough assessments, develops individualized care plans, implements them during surgeries, and ensures patient safety throughout the process. This role also includes leadership responsibilities within the operating room team and effective communication with patients, families, and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning (40%): Assess the needs of each surgical patient, develop plan of care specific to the patient, implement and evaluate care during the procedure, and make necessary adjustments with patient safety as a priority.
• Supervision and Coordination (30%): Supervise activities in the operating room, anticipate and coordinate schedule changes, assemble necessary equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia personnel as needed, and monitor the sterile field.
• Communication (20%): Effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, operating room team members, supervisors, managers, and other ancillary departments to ensure seamless patient care.
• Staff Development (10%): Participate in staff development opportunities by attending in-services, educational meetings, and seminars to enhance personal leadership and growth.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing.
• Experience in open heart surgeries is required.
• Recent travel work history is highly preferred.
• Must possess an active Michigan nursing license.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours, days (07:00:00-19:00:00)
